Late Monday morning, reporter Amy Bickel and I headed to Kiowa in search of harvesters and the start of the season’s wheat harvest. We knew farmers would be late getting in the field as rain had passed thru the area during the night. Our goal was to find out how they pass time while waiting to get into the field, then watch as the combines started rolling in the late afternoon. While there, we were lucky enough to run into the Inman based custom cutters – Schroeder Harvesting, as well as local farmer Brandon Farney and his family.
